I’ve found that keeping my workbag stocked and organized has drastically improved my day-to-day work life. It’s nice having anything you might need right on hand. I’ll clarify that I only take my workbag with me during the week to and from appointments.
First and foremost, the bag is very important. I went with a Around Town Tote in Posh Purple Pebble from ThirtyOne with a Super Swap-It Pocket inside so it’ll stand on it’s own and offer even more orginazation. Get a bag that you love and don’t mind carrying around in addition to or instead of your purse. I needed to be able to carry folders full of papers, so size was very important to me. I got purple as a pick-me-up to brighten my day since it’s my favorite color.
Inside my bag, I have a variety of different things that come in handy throughout the work week.
Water Bottle – I have a water bottle on my desk and also take a water bottle with me in my workbag. Anything to get my water intake up is a win in my book.
Mini Perfumes – Having one of these never hurts for a refresher throughout the day or if you forgot to apply some that morning. A little goes a long way!
Tide-To-Go Pens – We all get food on us at some point and these will give us a chance to not have us looking like a sloppy mess the rest of the day.
Business Card Holder – Keep your business cards in pristine condition inside a business card holder.
Mints – Always pop in a mint before talking face-to-face with a client!
Pens – Don’t be that person who doesn’t have a pen! I keep a whole pencil case full of pens, pencils, highlighters, and markers handy for anything that arises.
Lip Balm – I HATE chapped lips. They are the worst, so I always keep chapstick around. Purse, car, coat, and bags have some sort of lip balm in them.
Mini Hair Brush – A quick brush-through can be great on windy days when you’re going to appointments. I keep a small brush handy for these emergencies!
Hair Ties – I feel like these are self explanatory.
Makeup – Of course, I’ll have some makeup handy for any touch ups throughout the day. Subscription bag items are great things to stick in your purse or workbag. I have some mini lipsticks, mascaras, translucent powder, blush, and highlighter in a makeup bag.
Painkillers – It’s great to keep the painkiller of your choice on hand for headaches or other aches and pains that could throw off your day.
Notepad – You’ll need something to use those pens with!
