WHAT’S IN MY GYM BAG

It’s that time of the year where people are health conscious and trying to get in tip-top shape. I’ve been hitting the gym since the start of the New Year and have more drive than ever to change my body for the better! I just feel so much better in general when I’m active and in shape. Plus I like the challenge that comes with working out, as well. Here are my workout bag essentials!

The Bag: I use the Avia Sport Tote With Slip Pocket For Yoga Mat or Towel cause it gets the job done and is only $10 free shipping. Hard to beat that! It’s smaller, but still holds all of the below with ease and has a spot for a yoga mat, which I like.

Water Bottle: Probably the most important things in your bag is your water bottle! I couldn’t find the exact one that I use online, but I like the ones with a straw. Makes it easy to quickly grab a drink while you’re working out.

Extra Thick Yoga Mat: I like my yoga mats extra cushy. I’ve found that TJ Max, Marshalls, Ross, etc have good prices on a variety of yoga mats.

Tarte Gym Bag Grabs Athleisure Essentials: This includes a full size lifted sweatproof mascara in black brown, travel-size brighter days highlighting moisturizer, deluxe quench lip rescue in nude, and some fresh eyes maracuja waterproof eye makeup remover wipes. I often wash my face after a workout, so this set comes in handy for that.

Tarte No Shower Happy Hour Athleisure Essentials: This includes a travel size clean queen vegan deodorant, travel size hair goals dry shampoo, travel size tarteguard 20 tinted moisturizer in medium , deluxe tarteist glossy lip paint in goals (rosy nude), and a deluxe Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in insightful (peachy pink). The deoderant and dry shampoo are a lifesaver and the makeup is great if you have to run errands or something after you hit the gym.

Headbands: These are great for whisking away sweat and keeping your hair out of your face. My mom and I just tried out these from Amazon and like them quite a bit!

Small Towel: For when you’re very sweaty and need a little extra someting-something.

Hair Ties: I mean, duh.

Small Combination Lock: You need a small lock if you’re using the lockers at your gym! Keep your stuff safe while you’re getting your sweat on.

Gym Shoes: I use my old running shows ats my gym shows. They are a pair of Saucony that I was using last summer but decided I wanted something different for a running shoe and transitioned it to my gym shoe. I will probably be replacing them soon, though.

Fitbit Blaze: Okay, this isn’t really IN my bag, but still essential for my workouts. I love the Blaze so much. It looks like an awesome digital watch but is super useful when you’re working out for steps, heart rate, calories, and timing yourself. It even has workouts ON the watch that you can follow along to. I highly recommend it!

One thing I know I’m missing is a pair of good bluetooth headphones. I would LOVE some recommendations on headphones or anything else you have in your gym bag that I don’t have listed. Comment and let me know!

Workbag Essentials

I’ve found that keeping my workbag stocked and organized has drastically improved my day-to-day work life. It’s nice having anything you might need right on hand. I’ll clarify that I only take my workbag with me during the week to and from appointments.

First and foremost, the bag is very important. I went with a Around Town Tote in Posh Purple Pebble from ThirtyOne with a Super Swap-It Pocket inside so it’ll stand on it’s own and offer even more orginazation. Get a bag that you love and don’t mind carrying around in addition to or instead of your purse. I needed to be able to carry folders full of papers, so size was very important to me. I got purple as a pick-me-up to brighten my day since it’s my favorite color.

Workbag Essentials

Inside my bag, I have a variety of different things that come in handy throughout the work week.

Water Bottle – I have a water bottle on my desk and also take a water bottle with me in my workbag. Anything to get my water intake up is a win in my book.

Mini Perfumes – Having one of these never hurts for a refresher throughout the day or if you forgot to apply some that morning. A little goes a long way!

Tide-To-Go Pens – We all get food on us at some point and these will give us a chance to not have us looking like a sloppy mess the rest of the day.

Business Card Holder – Keep your business cards in pristine condition inside a business card holder.

Mints – Always pop in a mint before talking face-to-face with a client!

Pens – Don’t be that person who doesn’t have a pen! I keep a whole pencil case full of pens, pencils, highlighters, and markers handy for anything that arises.

Lip Balm – I HATE chapped lips. They are the worst, so I always keep chapstick around. Purse, car, coat, and bags have some sort of lip balm in them.

Mini Hair Brush – A quick brush-through can be great on windy days when you’re going to appointments. I keep a small brush handy for these emergencies!

Hair Ties – I feel like these are self explanatory.

Makeup – Of course, I’ll have some makeup handy for any touch ups throughout the day. Subscription bag items are great things to stick in your purse or workbag. I have some mini lipsticks, mascaras, translucent powder, blush, and highlighter in a makeup bag.

Painkillers – It’s great to keep the painkiller of your choice on hand for headaches or other aches and pains that could throw off your day.

Notepad – You’ll need something to use those pens with!

That’s all I’ve got for now. Are there any items that you keep in your workbag that aren’t listed? I’d love to know if I missed anything – comment below!

November Glam Bag from Ipsy

So, again, Ipsy has been on point with the actual bags lately. This one is SO cute! I was in need of some new mascara, so I was super excited when I saw my sneak peak of my bag. Here’s what I thought about my items:

Luxie Beauty’s Rose Gold Small Duo Fiber Brush 524T – This is a cute little brush! Very soft and I love the rose gold color.

FORMULA X’s Nail Polish in Huntress – Love the color! Very subtle sparkles, but a great, dark, fall and winter color.

Verb’s Ghost Oilβ„’ – I love this! I put it on damp hair before I air dry or use the blowdryer. It’s not too greasy, but leaves my hair soft and shiny.

‘Tini Beauty’s Eyetini Eyeshadow in Firestarter – This shade is really pretty, but I’m torn about this eyeshadow. It’s not super pigmented, but it’s very wearable and did look quite pretty on. I was just expecting that exact shade in the pot to be what goes on your eye, but that’s not the case.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – I’ve had this mascara before, so I was excited to try it out again. I like starting with this mascara and then using my CoverGirl LashBlast mascara to sort of comb and separate my lashes afterwards.

October Glam Bag from Ipsy

Uh, this bag is ADORABLE! I love it! This is right up behind the galaxy bag that I got last November or October, I believe. And I got a lot of good products in this one. I had a little meh spot with ipsy, but it’s been picking up lately!

CiatΓ© London’s Fierce Flicks Eyeliner – This reminds me of Kat Von D’s tattoo eyeliner. It goes on smooth, it goes on dark, and it goes on evenly. Which is exactly what you want with a felt liquid liner. It’s new, though, so we’ll have to see how it holds up over time.
theBalm Cosmetics’ Hot Mama Blush – Love this! Reminds me of Nars’ Orgasm blush. I think I’m going to stick this in my car for blush touch ups.
noyah’s Natural Lipstick in Smoke – I like the color itself, but it wasn’t quite right on me. It’s a “greige.” The formula is okay – long-lasting, but not the most comfortable or uncomfortable on the lips.
pΕ«r~lisse Daily Lip Nourisher with Mango and Shea Butters – I’m obsessed with lip balm, so I was pretty excited to get this. Makes my lips feel great and smells good. You can never have too many lip balms!
MeMeMe Blush Brush – A simple blush brush. Gets the job done and is soft. I tend to gravitate towards brushes with a little bit more personality, like colors or patterns, but overall this is a good brush.
