Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Creme VoxBox from Influenster [REVIEW]

I was ever so fortunate to receive the Kat Von D #LockItRevolution VoxBox from Influenster. This is definitely my favorite box yet. I was so excited to be picked for this box, especially because they were FULL-SIZED products. Thank you, Kat Von D and Influenster!

What Came In The Box:

First Impressions:

Concealers:

There are 21 concealer shades to choose from, including pure white to mix in with other highlighters and truly create custom shades. I recieved light 5 and 11. The light 5 shade is too light for me right now, but I love that I can mix the two together to customize my shade based on the time of year and what color my skin currently is. Light 11 was perfect for me right now. I’ve been wearing this every day and seeing how it holds up, especially in this heat we’ve had lately. It’s held up so well and goes on so smoothly. You can use a beauty blender or the brush. I mainly use it under my eyes to hide dark circles and just look more awake.

Concealer Brush:

This brush is so soft! It was sent at the perfect time, too, because I totally needed one. This has been great for getting up close to my under eye area and not tugging on the skin. It blends the concealer out effectively and allows me to easily build up coverage.

Setting Powder:

I have dry-combo skin, so I feel like setting powders can be tricky! This has been great so far at setting the makeup, but not making my skin look cakey or gross. There’s no scent or real texture after it’s applied.

Setting Powder Brush:

Holy moly, this thing is so SOFT! I love using this brush. It’s very fluffy and perfect for brushing on the setting powder.

Overall, I’m really impressed with these! They might be my new favorite… Gotta keep using them to be sure, but they’re giving my Clinique concealer a run for it’s money!

ZzzQuil VoxBox from Influenster

IMG_8290

I was chosen to try out the new ZzzQuil sleep-aid courtesy of Influenster. It came with 2 capsules, which is one nights worth. It also came with a coupon to buy more ZzzQuil.

I did an unboxing video, which you can view below.

I ended up using this last night, the night of the 4th of July. I had the day off work, which was amazing, but I still had to get up sort of early the next day. I figured I’d be hyped from watching the fireworks until pretty late. My body was pretty tired, but my mind wasn’t quite there. I took the two small, purple capsules at 11:40pm. Then about 12:15, my eyes could barely stay open. I rolled over and fell asleep while he played on his tablet until he was ready for bed. I slept all night and did not wake up once. Normally, I wake up once or twice from the dogs moving around. It was quite hard to get up at 7:15am this morning. That’s not atypical for me, though. What was a little unusual was still feeling like my eyelids were super heavy driving to work. Once I got some food, though, I didn’t feel tired. I’m thinking I needed another hour or so of sleep, so it was a full 8 hours.

Overall, I think they worked. It’s hard to tell from one night. I will probably use the coupon that came with it and get some more. I can see why these would be handy to have, but I’d make sure I was able to get 8 hours or more if I took them again.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence + Facial Treatment Mask [REVIEW]

IMG_6478

Influenster kindly included me in their SK-II vox box and I received the essence and face mask to test out! I’ve heard good things about essences (sort of like a lotion, but in liquid form) and was excited to try it out!

To apply, you put a few drops in your hand to warm it up then gently pat on your face until it’s absorbed. I’m loving it so far. It sinks in so quickly and feels great on my skin. It’s super light-weight and literally feels you’re wearing nothing. I have combo-dry skin that is sensitive and this works like a charm for me! The smallest size available is 75 ml and is $99. I even took this on vacation with me and it felt wonderful on my slightly sunburned skin. It was great patting it on and not rubbing it in, so I didn’t irritate my skin further when applying.

The face mask intrigued me, because I hadn’t used this type of mask before. It’s a cotton cloth that is soaked in a concentrated treatment of the essence that you lay on your face (it has eye and nose holes cut out) and let it absorb into your skin. You look a little frightening while wearing it, but you usually do with masks, right? It smelled wonderful and my skin felt very soft after using it. One of these babies is about $13.50 ($135 for a 10 pack) according to SK-II’s website.

All-in-all, I really like my SK-II products and would recommend them! 8.5/10

YVES SAINT LAURENT TOUCHE ECLAT Neutralizer Review

I was selected by Influenster to try out the new YVES SAINT LAURENT TOUCHE ECLAT Neutralizer line. I was sent the violet shade, which is meant to correct dull, yellow skin.
I have yellow undertones, so I decided to use it as a highlighter. It took some clicks of the pen to get the product in the brush when I first took it out. It is easy to use – you just paint on the color corrector where you want it. I used it on my cheekbones, middle of forehead, bridge of my nose, cuspids bow, and middle of my chin.

Then I used my beauty blender and blended it out. It felt good on my skin and I think it gave my skin a subtle pick-me-up. I’m curious about the other shades, I really wish they’d sent the green one, as well, which is for counteracting red skin.

Here’s some on my hand. It’s a very pale pinkish-purple color. The packaging is cute and efficient. It’s nice having the built in brush. We’ll see how long it lasts, because new, they retail for $38, which is a nice chunk of change for color correcting concealer.Β  Here’s me opening and trying out the product for the very first time:

Overall, I’d give it an 8/10.

Covergirl VoxBox

I was one of 5,000 lucky people who was selected by Influenster to test some brand new Covergirl items! These are new product lines coming out in January, but we were sent them a little early to try them out and give our honest opinions on them. I’m a little bummed I didn’t receive one of the eyeshadow palettes that a few hundred people got. Womp womp.

I’m already a fan of Covergirl’s mascaras, so I was pumped that I was selected to receive one from the brand new Plumpify line. It’s supposed to offer 50x (okay, that seems a bit much, but whatever) volume. They sent it in the color very black, which is perfect. The rubber applicator is twisted in a spiral, so I was curious about the performance as soon as I got it out of the box. It definitely made my lashes longer and fuller! It goes on pretty smoothly and clump free.

I still prefer using at least a couple different mascaras to get the thickest look possible, but this did an amazing job!

The other item I received was the vitamin infused lip balm from the new Oh Sugar line. I got the shade caramel. It smells nice and looks more like a lipstick than lip balm. Once it’s on the lips, though, you can tell it’s a balm. I like that it was sheer and shimmery.

Here’s me wearing both products!

YSL Black Opium Voxbox

I received a sample of Yves Saint Lauren’s Black Opium perfume courtesy of Influenster! I was super impressed by the packaging. It’s very edgy, yet very girly. The description mentioned scents of vanilla bean, white flowers, and coffee. This made me a little nervous because I HATE coffee. The taste, the smell, everything. I crossed my fingers and hoped the coffee scent wasn’t too strong and thankfully I couldn’t really pick up on any.

I normally go for very sweet, fruity scents. This was still sweet, but a subtler scent that j think would be perfect for the cooler months. I’m looking fotward to wearing this!
