I’m digging the charcoal polish and toothpaste that Carbon Coco sent for me to review! I’ve seen a noticeable difference in how white my teeth are and it’s so easy to use!

What I’m using: The Ultimate Charcoal Kit

• The Activated Charcoal Tooth Polish Unlike the usual activated charcoal from health stores, this is made of finely milled Organic Coconut Activated Charcoal with a hint of Bentonite Clay and Lemon Myrtle. This special formula is proven to be very gentle yet effective in detoxifying the mouth and removing stains! It has zero taste and smell.

• The Activated Charcoal Toothpaste This is a toothpaste formula that doesn’t have fluoride. It also contains our magic ingredient: activated charcoal! The toothpaste is black but turns into white foam while brushing, and it has a yummy minty taste. The toothpaste is designed to protect your teeth from further staining throughout the day, so you won’t mess up your results if you love coffee and coloured drinks!

Bonus: all Carbon Coco products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free!

Blossom VoxBox Review

I was selected to receive the Blossom VoxBox from Influenster for complimentary testing purposes! It was filled with goodies for me to tryout and review. Here are the products I received and my honest opinions on them.

Bear Naked Granola. I loved the granola that Bear Naked gave me 2 packets – one was coconut curry and the other was caramel apple. I really liked both flavors! It is a bit messy to eat, though. I like granola on the run, so that’d be my only dislike.

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. I hadn’t tried the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs for quite some time. It was just more hassle than what I was used to. It was easier than I remembered and looked a lot more natural than what I was expecting. I’d definitely use this again for special occasions.

Hair Food Root Cleansing Shampoo. I really loved the smell of the Hair Food shampoo! For a cleansing shampoo, though, it didn’t seem to get all the build up off my hair as ones I’ve tried in the past. I love it as a normal shampoo, but if it’s super deep cleaning, I’d use something else.

Nasoya Zero Calorie Noodles. I was looking forward to trying these – only 15 calories! First off, the noodles are in a sealed bag with liquid, so they aren’t hard like I was expecting. That said, they were easy to handle and cook. I mixed pesto and Parmesan cheese with mine and they were super good. The one packet was plenty of noodles, too! I had it as leftovers twice after the original meal.

Beanitos Chips. These were really good. I had them with some peach salsa that I had at my house. They’re very scrumptious. No complaints!

Australian Gold Lotion Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30. Okay, I have to admit I was pretty dismissive at first. Like, “yay, sunscreen….” End sarcasm. But then I opened the bottle. It smells wonderful! And it’s not greasy like other sunscreens! It soaks right in and my skin felt amazing and didn’t look all shiny. I love this product!

NYC New York Color City Proof 24HR Eye Shadow. I actually did a whole blog post on how disappointed I was about this product. View it here.

That’s the Blossom VoxBox! I hope I get selected for another VoxBox soon!

New York Color City Proof 24 HR Waterproof Eye Shadow Review

I was sent this product by Influenster in the Blossom Vox Box. I got the color Tribeca Taupe, which is a pretty medium shade of brown. The NYC website says “Want round the clock color that never fades or creases? This chubby, waterproof eye shadow delivers vibrant color for up to 24HR wear! In eleven on trend shades perfect for any look, just twist, glide and go!” This product is only $3, too, which I think is a fair price for an eye shadow stick.

It was the perfect color for my skin color to give me that “not wearing any make up” look. It felt nice going on, too, and was very easy to blend. I liked applying the product a lot.

I was a little skeptical of this product at first, because my eyelids are known to eat eye shadow. It sucks, I have to use a primer or it’s gone. I was expecting this product to start wearing off, but I hoped to be proved wrong. I decided to try it without a primer to see if it truly was long wearing.

Unfortunately, my expectations were met. After about four hours of wearing the shadow, it had started to disappear on my eyelids.

Honestly, I wasn’t surprised but I was crossing my fingers I had found an answer. I tried it out with primer and it still didn’t last as long as my powder eye shadows. I think this is just the way my eyes are shaped and how much of a lid crease I have.

Overall, I’d give it a 4/10. I think it’d work for some people or as under eye shadow just fine.

Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Palette Review

I decided to treat myself for my birthday with Urban Decay’s Naked 2 eye shadow palette. It was a hard choice deciding which palette to go with! I ruled out 3 since it was mostly rose-colored hues. My skin has yellow undertones and I thought that’d be the least flattering and versatile for me. After looking at the palettes in person and reading some reviews online, I went with the Naked 2!

I’m super pleased with my purchase. It’s been very versatile in creating lots of different looks. The case is metal and it comes with a two ended brush. There are 12 beautiful shades to fit any look you’re wanting for the day or evening.

My favorite daytime shades are: Bootycall, Suspect, Tease, and Pistol are all fantastic “no makeup” looks.

My favorite night time shades are: Snakebite, Busted, and Blackout. I usually add those colors to my crease to really amp up my look for the night. You can really use any color on your lid, depending on your mood.

Great highlighter shades: Foxy and Bootycall are fantastic under your eyebrow or in the inner corner of your eye.

These shades are all very wearable, mostly shimmery and overall flattering. I think these could work on many, many different skin tones. I’m super happy and give it a 10/10 and cannot wait to get my hands on the original Naked palette in the future.
