This year, I finally hosted a Halloween party! Big shoutout to Kayla for cooking and helping out, as well! Couldn’t have done it without you two! I decided in June, I believe, to be Poison Ivy for Halloween. I like to make my costumes as much as possible, so I bought a corset, hot pants, green fishnets, boots, leaves, wig, etc. and put together the costume myself! It’s more fun that way and guarantees that nobody else will have your costume exactly! It was tons of fun and there were some great costumes! Can’t wait until next year, but what to be?
After months of renovating and moving in, this place is starting to look like my home! I’m not completely finished, mainly in the office and bedroom. For the most part, though, everything’s looking great! Still need to get some curtains for a couple of the rooms and other decor to make it feel more home-y. I can’t wait until it’s warmer so we can do the outside stuff, though! I want a fire pit, that’s for sure.
The 2nd – the 9th of February my family and I traveled to Playa del Carmen, Mexico! We hadn’t taken a legitimate family vacation since I was in high school, so it was overdue! We spent the majority of the time sun bathing and drinking tequila sun rises. The resort was very nice, but the wifi was super spotty. It drove me nuts! The restaurants were really good and we had lots of variety to choose from. I got sun burnt a couple times, but nothing too crazy, especially for how pale I was.
Overall, it was a great time! Wish I could have stayed longer and brought up my friends and dogs. Then I’d be set!
Ah, Thanksgiving or aka Food Coma 2014. I decided to take it upon myself and make a vegetarian dish for my family’s Thanksgiving. I went with mushroom and squash lasagna. It turned out really well! I’m pretty proud of myself! I followed this recipe if you’d like to duplicate it!
I’ve been trying to decide what exactly to write for my first post for a couple weeks now. I decided to just go for it. Welcome to my new blog. I chose the name rocktographer, because I think it describes not only what I do but a big part of who I am. Obviously photography is a huge part of my life and I love rock n roll, as well. Rock is in my life in not only musical form, but I believe fashion, too. Naming this blog took so much longer than what I’d like to admit, but I kept coming back to this idea.
I plan to post personal things here. So, I’m sure you’ll see lots of posts about photography, fashion, food, music, and animals. I hope you enjoy reading and I’m going to try my hardest to post regularly. I think I could use the practice for my writing and I love the idea of documenting my thoughts.
