December Glam Bag from Ipsy

A pink faux fur bag from ipsy in December? I can dig it! I was quite pleased with this bag, even though I already owned 2 of the products. They are products I like, so I certainly didn’t mind getting more.

Hikari Cosmetics’ Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Iris – I love felt-tipped liquid liners, especially dark purple ones! This was great.

Marc Anthony True Professional Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Deep Hydrating Treatment – This is something I already own and use on my hair, so it’s nice to have a back up for when that runs out.

Ciaté London’s Liquid Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pin Up – Okay, this was the best item for me. I’m obsessed with liquid lips, but it’s so hard finding a good formula and shade. This is both. It’s very comfortable on the lips and this shade is gorgeous! I wore it out when I attended a performance and got a few compliments!

tarte cosmetics’ deluxe maracuja oil – I already have some of this, too, but I am obsessed with it and this little baby bottle is so cute. I have dry-combo skin, so I like that this hydrates my dry areas well, but doesn’t make me look greasy. I usually use it at night to be safe, but it does work well before applying makeup, too.

theBalm Cosmetics’ Mad Lash® Mascara – Who doesn’t love mascara minis?! I swear these always arrive right as an old tube is getting dried up or almost gone. I like this formula from theBalm.

Ipsy is a makeup subscription that sends you a mix of both full and sample-sized beauty products each month in a cute bag. It’s only $10 – which you can’t beat! Sign up here.

March Glam Bag from Ipsy

Another bag I actually like! This one was cute and I was pretty excited about what I received in my bag. I’m pretty jealous of everyone who received the Colourpop highlighter, though. If that was swapped with the bronzer, I’d be a happy girl.

Beau Gâchis® Paris Eyeshadow Brush – $12. A brush is a brush for me. I have no complaints, so I guess that means it’s good! I didn’t notice anything outstanding about it, but it got the job done and you can’t have too many brushes. Well, maybe, but I’m not there yet.

Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream – $9. I liked this! I did think my hair was smoother after blow drying when I used this product. I enjoyed the smell of it, too, and the product soaked into your hands after you put it into your hair fairly quick. I hate when hair products just sit on your hands. I’m noticing a trend of really liking Marc Anthony hair products.

NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Pink Lust – $7. I received the fuchsia color. It is super bright and didn’t really fit my complexion that well. It’s a pretty color, though, and I’m happy that we have more options for inexpensive liquid lipsticks. The formula was pretty nice, especially for that pricetag. It was a bit more drying than my more expensive liquid lipsticks, but that didn’t surprise me.

TEMPTU Warm Glow Bronzer – $27? (Can’t find this exact product on their website). I wasn’t sure what to think about a liquid bronzer. I used my fingers to apply and blend. It looked a bit dark when I first put it on, but it blended out well and easily. I liked how it looked, but I think I prefer my powder bronzers for ease of application. I’ll have to try using a brush or beauty blender and see if that works out better for me.

essence cosmetics make me brow eyebrow gel mascara – $3. This reminded me of Benefit’s Gimme Brow ($24), except it’s only $3! I have the Gimme Brow and I was super impressed with Essence’s version. For that price tag, I’d definitely recommend and get the Essence version when I’m out of both. It deposits a little bit of color on your brows and combs them into place and holds them there. I usually use this as the finishing touch on my brows after using a pencil to define.

So that’s March’s bag! Can’t wait until next months. If you don’t have ipsy, you should! It’s only $10 a month and you receive samples and a cute make up bag monthly. You take a quiz so they can better match up products with your preferences. Click here and get ipsy!

Color Pop Matte Liquid Lipsticks Review

IMG_3269

So for only $6 each, I had to check out Color Pop‘s matte liquid lipsticks, cause I’m obsessed with matte liquid lipsticks. I already had quite a few of my normal colors covered with my Aromi lipsticks, so I decided to get some nice neutrals and a super dark purple. I got, from left to right – Bad Habit, Guess, Beeper, and Clueless. I read online that Beeper was a great dupe for Kylie’s Lip Kit color Dolce and Clueless for Candy, so I thought I’d give those a go. The rest were just because I thought they were pretty. Color Pop has quite a few shades in your typical red, pink, nude, purple lines, but they do have some funky/non traditional colors, as well, like blue and green.

I thought these felt similar to my Aromi colors, but not quite as long lasting and a little more drying on the lips. Nothing that I don’t expect with matte liquid lipsticks, though. The coverage was excellent and I’d definitely get more shades from Color Pop, especially since they’re only $6 each! The price point is the biggest thing for me here. I haven’t seen a quality matte liquid lipstick at such a low price point.

Here’s the four colors swatched on my arm in natural light and with flash.

Beeper is super pretty on and really goes with my coloring. It looks much more natural than I anticipated. Clueless was another nice neutral that was soft and romantic, at least I thought so. Bad habit was more subtle on the lips. It was a nice mauve pink that wasn’t too loud. Guess looked pretty much black on my lips and I probably won’t wear it often, but I’m excited to rock it once in a while.

Here’s a potato quality photo from my phone of them on real quick.

Overall I’d give the color Color Pop lipsticks a 8/10! Have you tried Color Pop? Any other must-have shades I looked over when I was ordering? Let me know!

October Glam Bag from Ipsy

  1. MicaBeauty ipsy EXCLUSIVE Cream Eyeshadow in Bronze. At first, I wasn’t super excited about a bronze eyeshadow. I don’t know, it just didn’t wow me. Then I tried it out. Woah, my opinion changed! I LOVE it! It’s super long wearing, has a super pretty shimmer to it, and the color looked awesome on me. I would definitely recommend this eyeshadow. Check out the photo below featuring this eyeshadow. I was actually planning to purchase green for my Halloween costume but shipping is $10 and that’s just a bit much to me. And was more than the eyeshadow after a coupon.
  2. LAVANILA LABORATORIESPURE VANILLA DELUXE MINI ROLLER BALL. This was okay. I really like the roller ball application and it truly does smell like vanilla. I’m just not a fan of smelling like vanilla. I prefer more floral scents.
  3. AYRES ipsy EXCLUSIVE Pampas Sunrise Hand Cream. This made my hands feel amazing. It has a nice smell that isn’t too overpowering. I like that this lotion isn’t greasy or take forever to absorb.
  4. theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick. The color is just okay on me. It’s a little orange-y than what I’d probably normally wear, but it’s not bad. It goes on easily and isn’t too drying on my lips. It stayed for a decent amount of time, but I’d probably expect longer.
  5. Emité Make Up PROFESSIONAL SLANT TWEEZER. These are the tweezers that I didn’t know I needed! They’re a fantastic size! The head is smaller than my pair of slant tweezers, so I can get really precise with them. They’re very sharp. On more fine hair, it was actually cutting the hair before I could pull it! Obviously these hairs aren’t super dark or noticeable, I just like them gone, so not the biggest deal. I was impressed none-the-less.
